Skin Peeling

My 15 month old son has large areas peeling off of the soles of his feet and the palms of his hands.  It is also on the fingers and toes.  It looks like it was burned and then peeling off in thick layers.  The skin underneath is red and looks painful.  But it is not he walks on it with no problens and can do all things with his hands.  He doesnt want you to touch it due to him being ticklish.  He has never been around any chemicals so that is not it.  No fever, but he has red spots on his legs and torso.  And what looks like a diaper rash.  We were told the rash was a yeast infection treated it with nystatin and it started to clear then got worse.  I have picures if anyone can help.  Thanks

We see the dermotologist tomorrow I have uploaded pics on my profile if anyone has any ideas.  It isnt chemical as he is not around any.  He has sensitive skin so we do not use any harsh products.  All laundry done in free & clear hypoalerginic products. I seen some posts on here regarding EK wondering if that could be it thanks in advance

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Various possibilities for peeling hands and feet are trauma and allergic or irritant contact dermatitis, contact with harsh detergents, soaps and lotions that contain perfume and cold, dry air can cause  peeling and dermatitis or fungal infections can also cause peeling.

Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide).

Symptoms can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin.If still the symptoms do not improve then pls get a clinical examination done by a dermatologist. Fungal infections and eczema have to be ruled out then.

Hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
