Skin disease from South East Asia

I have a neighbor who had picked up a disease from Vietnam ? many years ago & has had basically no luck curing himself. He is currently being treated 3 times a week with ultraviolet rays ? He said he probably picked up something in the rice paddies & now his skin has rashes &  secretes a sticky substance year round.

Hello,

I cannot confirm a diagnosis without examination, but it can be generalized pustular psoriasis.

Psoriasis is a chronic, non-contagious autoimmune disease which affects the skin and joints. It commonly causes red scaly patches to appear on the skin.Diagnosed by skin biopsy and phototherapy(PUVA )is helpful in treatment.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how your friend is doing or if you have any additional queries.Warm regards.
