Possiable to re-contract Molluscum?

Is it possible to contract Molluscum a second time or does the body create an immunity? Can the virus re appear in the same areas as well? My understanding was when the lesions were treated the virus was treated. Is this true?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Although molluscum contagiosum is a viral infection but reinfection can occur. It can also occur on the same areas where the lesions were present. There is no hard and fast rule for that.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
