Skin problem

I have been having a problem with several lesions that appear on my legs, thighs and buttocks(very few).  They seem to appear every couple weeks and the lesions are flat and red with a central dimple in them. They did itch a little at first and then they would scab over and heal in about 2 to 3 weeks. The ones that have healed have left a small pit and some hyperpigmentation.  I know this is hard to diagnose via internet.  I was just wondering if you had any ideas.

I had an Obaji chemical peel done Aug 4th. The doctor only did one layer as he said my skin was in good condition and didn't have any sun damage (apparently you can do up to 4 of the chemical safely).

I saw him again Sept 9 as I wasn't pleased with the peel's results on my nose.

He did a second "partial" peel that day but used a TCA (?) of 30%. He did my nose area, as well as a small rectangle on my chin and a large patch on my forehead. I didn't want my forehead done at all so was a little leary of that to begin with.

Now it is 7 weeks since and I have hyperpigmentation on my forehead at the outer edges of where he did the peel (it was a large oval shape). They look like large light brown age spots.

I also have a very large dime-sized shape of reddish on the large side of my nose. I am very upset at the discolouration. Makeup doesn't cover it up. I never wore liquid makeup before the procedure and now have bought 2 different brands. Everyone notices the color difference. My husband thinks I have ruined my skin for good.

I sought the advice of a different doctor - a dermatologist - last week. He didn't take a close look at the marks but said they would "probably" fade in time. I was not reassured at all but valued a second unbiased opinion.

Having now researched hyperpigmentation on the web, I am VERY concerned that I may now be scarred for life. I do not know what to do about it. Any ideas as to what types of products or procedures (laser treatment??) can assist me? Please advise. Thank you sincerely.

We know what it is..........
Your case sounds very familiar to me. We have been researching strange and unusual skin invasions by fungi and parasites as well as parasitic fungi and we've recently made some great discoveries in the field. I think should contact us so we could present a few symptomatic questions to you to see if we may be able to help you. If anyone else suffers from strange skin conditions like tiny black specks coming from the skin pores, white granules coming from skin, strange fibers protruding from skin, or other conditions such as Lyme disease, or invisible skin parasites, they, also should get in touch with us. if it IS the condition we have been working on, there is a cheap and very successful cure for it.

I thought I was allergic to my husband, my water, something.  Everytime I got a bruise a few days later as it was healing I would have an awful rash that continues forEVER.  I have one rash on the front of my calf that I have had for a year.  Like patches.  I have one on my inner thigh just above my knee and one on my arm just above my elbow.  I have one spot on my shoulder - just a little tiny thing but AGH - drives me crazy.

I do believe that some of it is related to blood sugar levels in my case because if I don't eat regularly or I do drink too much diet coke I get more itchy.  But sometimes it just comes along for no reason at all.  SARNA does work if you can find it but it doesn't cure it.  I use all sensitive skin stuff (made no difference).

I have been to Dermo... for YEARS - no answer - nothing works - biopsy reveals nothing.

My personal RX is water, Sarna, and chill out - eat regularly and take care of myself.

After reading this board and reseaching =- there is no cure all...

What do you think?

You're right--it is hard to tell without seeing them.  However, your description seems to match something on the order of folliculitis (blocked pores).  If you're scratching them, it would be best to stop.  I would set up a dermatology appointment and while you're waiting, wash daily with an antiseptic cleanser like Hibiclens (non-Rx) and apply an antibiotic cream like bacitracin or neosporon.  If the rash goes away before your appointment, you can cancel it.

Best.
