Small bump in pubic region

I am a 24 year old male and as of Sunday, April 1st I noticed a small red bump in my pubic region about an inch above my penis. I have not been sexually active in at least a year and have been tested for STD's (chlamydia and gonorrhea in particular because after being with a one night stand she informed me that she had chlamydia which she thought she got from someone after I had been with her) with those tests coming up negative. The bump is barely even raised and does not hurt, itch, burn, and cannot be popped as of now. It sort of looks like it could be around a hair follicle but it is too hard for me to tell. I am not sure what it is obviously and am somewhat concerned at this point as to what it could be. I looked up symptoms of herpes (out of precaution) and it really does not look like herpes, my only concern with this is that I contracted a cold about two days ago. I don't know if it's me being paranoid or if the two are actually connected, but both my parents have been sick during the past two weeks as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am most likely going to head to the Dr. in the next couple days, but I am still skeptical that it is anything serious. If the one girl that I've had unprotected sex with had anything else it would have shown up in her tests since she found out at her physical and you have to request to get STD screenings done. I also am pretty anxious in the first place, and am even more so when it involves this area of my body. If it was along the line of herpes wouldn't this be very abnormal for symptoms to show up over a year and a half later? And also wouldn't the symptoms actually be on the penis instead of in the pubic area?

Go to a dr and get the bump skin swabbed and you'll get your answer. It could be herpes or genital warts or an ingrown hair. Go NOW while you have the bump otherwise you won't be able to test it. No matter what the outcome is don't worry! I have herpes and I never see symtoms and my partner as genital warts and now women can be vaccinated for this. Even if you come up positive, trust me, your life will move on and be fine. I am the most worried person and I have completely forgotten I have herpes because it never enters my life and I was diagnosed 4 years ago...it's not a huge deal after a couple months. Go get the tests and work from there :)
