I used sterilized medical wipes from my first-aid kit to wipe down the tweezers. I pulled out the 'warts' one at a time, cleaned the surface with an alcohol wipe then placed a spot band-aid on the area. It will hurt a little. I have a medium-high tolerance for pain so it wasn't too bad. When I said 'root', I meant the white section of the wart beneath the top layer of skin.
Right now, the spots are healing and look pretty good. I'm guessing that in a week or two the areas will be a light pink blemish on the skin. I read somewhere you can buy scar-healing lotion to improve the process, but even now I'm much less embarrassed than I was with the warts. The blemishes left behind will appear like a minor shaving rash or ingrown hair, as one of the scars from a wart I removed early on is beginning to disappear.
Good luck, I'm not an expert but my method seems to work fine if you can handle minor pain and bleeding.
hey curiousman21 i recently developed the same symptoms and went to a derm and they told me molloscum contagiosum... i received cryotherapy but there are still more "warts" on and around the genitals... how exactly did you sterilize the tweezers and how are the places where you took them out looking now? how exactly did you get to the "root"?
Like what the consultant has told, see that there is no sec.infection.Also none should poke or lanceate a leision with out knowing .
Hello,
Although you have removed them on your own, just make sure that the area does not get infected. Also if you gat any scarring(although rare),then after complete recovery, you can use hydroquinone cream on the scars.Chemical peeling and laser treatment can also be tried. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
Real smart man,and I predict it will heal with no scars.Incidentally before lasers this is what we used to do and many who were children then, look back and reminise how they cried when I removed with the curiousman procedure, the molluscums.
Well I've taken the high road and removed them myself. I took a pair of sanitized tweezers, pinched really hard and pulled them out one by one, all the way down to the "root". I had to buy a box of round band-aids, but it's worth it. Discoloration will last a few months, but that's better than waiting a year for them to disappear or pay a dermatologist to freeze them off (I read that it will turn a nasty gray color if you freeze them, and will leave worse discoloration as well).
I'll post back in a week and let everyone know how it turns out. I did make sure to wash my hands and will be sure to wash my towel too, to help prevent spreading it any further.
I have no symptoms, other than slight embarrassment when having my shirt off in public.
Would the use of cryotherapy work well to remove these spots? Something similar to removal of common warts? By physical destruction, do you mean "scooping" the lesions out on my own, or consulting a dermatologist?
Also, what are the chances of leaving scarring after these are removed? Would a specific type of removal procedure result with less scarring?
Thank you for your help.
Hello,
From the pictures,it looks like mollsucum contagiosum. Molluscum contagiosum is a common, benign, self limiting viral infection of the skin.
In adults, molluscum infections are often sexually transmitted and can transmit from one site to other skin sites by aoutoinocultaion. Treatment includes physical destruction or manual extrusion of the lesions, cryotherapy, and curettage.
If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist
I hope that helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
Molluscum contagiosum.Cryo is the best treatment after confirmation.
