Sex related question.....worried

I have had little bumps on the shaft of my penis for a while and I never thought much of it. Recently though i noticed a bump on the head of my penis. I notice it more obviously when I'm erect! They aren't really painful but I'm worried! I hope it isn't herpes or any STD! God Bless!

You need to see a Dr to be sure you don't have something concerning going on. It is not possible to tell from your description whether or not this is an STD. There are others, not just Herpes to be concerned with. Such as, warts and molluscum. Not only that, but this could be a yeast or bacteria causing your symptoms, which requires different medications as well. Also, you should not use hydrocortisone on your genitals without the guidance of an MD. There are many side effects associated with steriod use, such as skin atrophy etc which is enhanced when used in these sensitive areas. I know it is embarrassing to see a doctor about a concern on the genitals, but believe me, they see it ALL the time. It is part of their job, and the only way to know what is actually going on down there.

I was worried about the bumps so I put hydrocortisone on my penis and went to work....it was busy and I think the heat and the cream irratated my penis more because of the friction of rubbing against my pants. I really hope its due to heat and friction. Please tell me if this is a possibility.

I haven't had sex in over a year and I haven't noticed anything until now. I'm just worried scraed about it. I've never had anything like this before. I do a lot of walking in my job so Im hoping its an skin irratation due to that. They dont at all seem to be forming into blisters. I bought some aloe and olive leaf soap at the health food store the other day because i heard that was good for skin irratations. Is this true? Should I be concerned?

Hi,

Without any symptoms, these do not seem to be an urgent case. Just continue to observe the skin condition. This may be enhanced normal structures like swollen sweat glands, blocked hair follicles, lymph nodes and even blood vessels.

Do keep us posted with regards to your progress. Without significant sexual history, this may not be something that requires medical intervention. An initial consult with your physician will be able to help.

They dont hurt or itch really. They also dont appear to have fluid. They're are like tiny little bumps on my shaft and some on my penis head. Is it possible to have bumps on the penis that are normal or common

I dont think they contain fluid.........they dont seem to. They dont itch but my groin itches occasionally. Mostly if my groin itches its between my scrotum and leg. They dont hurt either.

Hi,

I do understand your concern. These little bumps ,how would you describe them?
Do they contain fluid?
Are they itchy and painful?
Any significant sexual history that may suggest an STD?

Bumps and lumps on the penis may be due to underlying normal structures like sweat glands, hair follicles and blood vessels. Bacterial infections like folliculitis may present as reddish bumps on the penile shaft.

"Folliculitis usually caused by staphylococcus aureus (S.aureus) is common in the follicle rich genital region. Typically, patients have several 1-2 mm pustules, each centered around a hair follicle. Careful exam may show a hair follicle extending out of the pustule. Note, the lesions are not grouped nor are they usually unilateral like genital herpes. Folliculitis can occur anywhere on the genitals though less common on the distal penis due to absence of follicles. Heat and sweat are aggravating factors."

Have this assessed by your primary physician. You may need antimicrobial soaps and cream. Keep the area clean and dry always.Avoid any sexual contact for the moment until you have this assessed by your doctor.
