Spider Angioma

by JenP333, Jul 29, 2008 04:02PM
I have started developing these small red dots on my upper body, especially my arms and chest.  They are a small pin sized red dot with a fuzzy kind of ring around it.  My general doctor told me they were a different type of spider veins, but she didn't go into much detail.  I have looked it up, and after seeing numerous pics, I think what I have are spider angiomas.  I have a hormonal disorder, so that is more than likely the cause of it.  I was recently diagnosed and I am now being treated to get my hormones back in order, it wasn't until after I started treatment that the red dots came.  My question is, is there anything I can do (except for laser treatments) to get rid of them?  Is there any way to prevent new ones from forming, they seem to be popping up every day!  I have looked it up, and from what I can find, there is no way to prevent or get rid of spider angiomas, but if anyone has any advice, it would be appreciated.  I was going to go to the dermatologist, but if there is no known treatment, why go?
