Stretch marks immediately after weight lifting

My boyfriend is a healthy 21 year old male and I'm a healthy 21 year old female. He and I just started going back to the gym for the first time in a few weeks and our first night was tonight. We did the rowing machines and lifted some for about an hour or so. A few hours later, he had deep purple stretch marks on both his shoulders. He's gotten them before from lifting, but usually they appear months later, not hours. Is this normal? I've never gotten them before. Let us know!

It is not normal to have stretch marks appear the first night of lifting. The muscle has no time to grow and stretch the skin to a breaking point. I would contact a genetics counselor/endocrinologist to see if he has Ehler Danlos syndrome or Cushing's disease. You might have to nag them to do tests but its better to eliminate them as possibilities. If they both come up negative, I would be interested in hearing about it. I am thinking about starting a research company that studies stretch marks by looking at the dna of people are prone to them and people who don't get them ( nothing invasive to participants). Please email me and let me know what happens with your boyfriend. It is very nice of you to look for advice in regards to your boyfriend. ***@****

yeap, as muscles expand / move rapidly skin stretches. He shouldve took it slow his first time back in the gym, and shouldve warmed up first stretching and so on. get some coco butter and rub it on the normal stretch mark areas.
