Surgery or other soultion for pores

by eman_nick, Dec 22, 2008 10:20AM
While I recognize how common and perhaps even boring a question mine is, I nonetheless have yet to find a reasonable answer with regards to the removal of pores. Of course, pores are necessary in various ways but, my problem is that I have to wear make up to fill in my pores because they are so unattractive and, it makes people think--if they can detect that I am wearing makeup--that I am gay or some weirdo. I cannot possibly wake up or before going to sleep sneak off in the dark to put on this clinique product so that a potential girlfriend does not quit on me on account of my unattractive face. And, that is just it. Have huge pores can destroy a person's capacity to love. It might sound like an exaggerated statement, but it is precisely the case for many people. In past forums on the topic, I have seen people reply by saying there is no real solution. But, how can this be the case? We can fly to Mars but we cannot get rid of pores on the face?
There must be something. How is it that people can have reconstructive bone surgery but getting rid of pores is impossible?

Thank you for any advice you may have,

Hello,

The problem of enlarged pores on face or facial pores is commonly associated with excessive oiliness and acne. The excessive oiliness of the skin is in turn triggered by the hormonal changes in the body.

Large pores can be easily dealt with proper cleansing and frequent toning and moisturizing of the skin. Other treatments to consider include microdermabrasion, skin resurfacing lasers and chemical skin peels.

In my opinion you should discuss these treatment options with a cosmetologist/dermatologist.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.

Hello Kinnd,

Thank you for taking your time to answer my questions, I was surprised to see a response so quickly and when I got here even more appreciative of the quality of the response. So, thank you!

Might I also ask of how successful the above-mentioned methods are for permanently removing or deminishing facial pores? I have heard that some methods do indeed deminish pores for a short period of four or so months though that they require the person to return to the surgery treatment regularly. Do you know any solutions out of those mentioned above that are said to be a one-time-process?--A--solution?

Thank you again !
Bye bye

Hello,

Out of all of these, laser resurfacing is effective, painless and effect persists for a long time. However you should get it done from a good cosmetologist and discuss all the pros and cons before heading for it.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.

Hi,

I just had Active FX laser resurfacing in February.  My skin has changed in texture overall but I have more problems with blocked pores. The procedure was expensive but not as costly as where I should have gone.  I will never go for another laser treatment.

If you do decide on a procedure look up O'Neils Skin Rejuvenation online I know it will last at least fifteen years or more.  The procedure is very expensive and you will have to stay in a California Spa for two weeks to be monitored.  My relatives have had this procedure and after fifteen years they still have a smile on their face.

Good Luck!
