Testicular Itching/Rash, confused, need help!

Hey

Sorry this may be a little long,

It started with dryness/white-ness in my upper thigh, and peeling of the skin, i thought that it was an infection and took regular baths and kept the area clean,
After a few days, this spread to my testicles as well. my testicles starting itching badly along with the peeling and in  a few days, the itching became intolerant.
I read on the internet, about this being jock itch and though i was washing the area regularly, i took the advice i read online and trimmed the pubes on my testicles.
It was the first time i had trimmed my pubes and thus there was a lot of pain which followed on my testicles and thighs due to the growing hair.
The peeling of the skin problem was solved, by which i concluded that it was jock itch,

NOW, some hair has grown and it doesnt hurt anymore but the itching problem on the testicles which was before is coming back!! There is no peeling now, but my thighs are white-er/dryer like before (but this might also be the result of the new growing hair scratching against it for around a week)

When I keep my testicles out in the open and the testicles are soft, it doesnt itch much but when I wear clothes and sometimes when the testicles are hard/firm, it itches a lot.
I am unable to sleep at night because of this and stay out of my room for a long time.

I wash the area with soap atleast 3-4 times a day as well. Should i stop using the soap? is it further increasing the problem?

Please help me, i am in a lot of difficulty! Its been around 2 weeks in total

Hello,
The main treatment for sweat dermatitis is prevention. The best thing to consider is to prevent that portion of the body from sweating like by wearing light and cotton clothes, taking cool refreshing baths, maintaining the temperature in your homes and cars and avoiding strenuous activities.

I hope it helps. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Thanks for the reply Ma;am

I have been using clotrimazole since 3-4 days, and there has been improvement.
Also, I started taking Citrazine today.
The itching problem has reduced except at night.

The problem is that I cannot sit in one place with my pants on for a long time.
I think this is due to the heat/dampness.
As a student, this is a seirous problem for me.

Any suggestions for that?

Hello,
First of all avoid washing 3-4 times and instead try keeping the skin as dry as possible. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.

Also apply topical antifungal cream like miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, and clotrimazole after consulting a dermatologist.
