The cause of and solution to eczema on eyelids?

I'm a 19 year old female, and have had reoccurring eczema on my elbow creases and neck for the past few months. My GP told me the most likely cause is lactose, so I am now avoiding eating dairy products (for almost 2 weeks now). I have eczema on my eyelids which I tend to scratch when I sleep, I have been putting Sigmacort cream on it but it doesn't help. Is lactose causing the eczema on my eyelids? Is there a short-term fix to the eczema on my eyelids?

there is no easy way of finding out the cause, it's trial and error. it may be lactose, dairy, or you could jus have eczema that is totally unrelated to your diet. jus do your research and try different things

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Allergic reaction can occur to strong soaps, Solvents, chemicals, certain foods etc. so lactose allergy can be the cause of your eczema.
Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. Also apart from the topical steroid cream, keep the area well moisturized by applying non perfumed, hypoallergenic moisturizers.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
