Thinning skin

I am in my early 60's and didn't expect to have problems with thinning skin, at least not this soon.  My patents (father now gone) had this problem but they were in their 80's.  This started getting bad a year or two ago.  Whether connected to my other problems, who knows.  Especially the skin on my forearms seems the most affected.  Our puppy has scratched me pretty good twice, the latest just today, and seems like my skin is thin and just peels back and starts bleeding.  Last time, I cleaned it right away, kept antibiotic ointment on it and kept it covered. Seemed to take forever to heal and now have a darker, discolored area there.  For other issues, I have had gallons of blood work done.  I was low in B12 and my PCP started me on that some time ago.  Endo doc started me on 2000 of Vit D due to Osteo as I refuse to take the other drugs.  I am recently back on Omeprazole or Peocid.
This is so unsightly and even a bump or scratch causes bleeding under the skin.
Anyone know of any remedies for this? Anyone my age have these issues?

Thanks for the reply.  My forearm looks like I lost a battle.  Am using Bandaids daily.  Yes, I always clean and use antibiotic ointment.  So unsightly.  Just so unsightly.

Thinning skin is a very common part of aging process.  I am 76, and it has been noticeable since 50s.
As you have seen a doctor and gotten blood work to rule out anything serious, relax,  Healing will take longer as you age.  Keep antibiotic ointments in medicine cabinet to prevent infections when you get scratched.
