Tiny bump on shaft of the penis, and extra skin on frenulum

Dear doctor,
Recently during masturbation, I noticed a tiny bump on the shaft of my penis.  I first noticed it 8 days ago.  It is less than 1 mm in size, slightly lighter color than the skin color if I stretch the skin.  In fact, I have to stretch the skin in order for it to become noticeable.  There is no irritation, no itchiness, no discharge, or pain of any sort.  It hasn't grown in size in 8 days, that was the first time I noticed the bump. I have been checking it for eight days, its conditions hasn't changed.  Just because I was looking at the shaft of my penis daily, I also noticed a extra small piece of skin in the middle of the frenulum.  It's about 1 mm in size.  It's at the area where there is lots of rubbing from the underwear.  It's soft, moist(doesn't mean wet or have any discharge), just not hard or dry, in fact, I have to wiggle it to make it stand out.  It could have been there for a while, I m not sure.

My sexual background.  I have had about 7 girlfriends in the past 16 years.  The only one I engaged in unprotected sex was six years ago.  I have been tested for STD last year, all negative.

Just wondering what that tiny bump is, also the extra piece of skin.  Can it be HPV? I read that vinegar can help detect genital warts, is that true?  Please help

I m from singapore. Today is Day 8 of my circumcision. I had a lump of swollen skin under my penis head. I am worried. Is this normal? I google around n found no guys mentioned about this issue. most of their penis looks normal.

Thanks very much for the expert advice.  Actually, the extra piece of skin I am referring to is in the middle of the frenulum.  It kind of in a shape of a shark fin, it's right at the place where it rubbed against my underwear.  It's soft and kind of flat, and usually stick flat to one side of the skin.  Again, I have to wiggle it to make it stand out.  Here is a better photo

I can understand your concern for the small lump on penis shaft and the small extra skin on frenulum.

First of all you should stop worrying as the small lump looks like a small cyst on the penis shaft and there seems to be nothing wrong with the penis skin or the superficial dorsal vein of penis. A sebaceous cyst is a closed sac occurring just under the skin which contains a "pasty" or "cheesy" looking substance called keratin.They may occur anywhere on body and even penis shaft can be effected. Generally no treatment is required but sometimes may get infected or some people may get them removed for cosmetic reasons.

Given your sexual history with STD panel coming up clear, chances of this lump being genital wart is less. There is currently no FDA-approved test to detect HPV in men. Genital warts can be diagnosed through visual examination of the penis and surrounding areas. Genital warts can be confirmed by biopsy but Sometimes we can use an enhancing technique called acetowhitening. This technique involves the application of 5% acetic acid solution to the area of suspicion for about 5-10 minutes. Infected areas will turn white. But this test is not confirmatory and the best confirmatory test is by biopsy skin.

I suggest you to get it examined from a dermatologist but this is to allay your apprehension for genital wart as from the pictures, it looks like it can be a small cyst.

The “extra skin “ that you have described looks like a fold of skin on the dorsal penis vein. If it enlarges in size then there is a possibility of penile varicose vein or Mondor’s disease. In penile varicose vein, when you feel the vein, you will notice that it feels kind of lumpy, but not tender to touch. In Mondor’s disease, it is swelling of a vein under the skin of the penis which is caused by a blood clot and is due to superficial thrombophlebitis. It can happen due to circulatory system conditions as well. It is typically painless, but can be painful. The patient describes it as cord like thickening of the superficial penile vein. In that case examination and investigations like an ultrasound or a Color Doppler need to be done.
