Weird leg rash.

Okay, so about three weeks ago I noticed tiny, purplish/red dots appearing under my skin on my thighs. They don't hurt or itch, and usually disappear within a day or two. I have also had them once on arm. Then, about a week ago(still have the spots on my thighs) I began getting itchy red spots from the knees clear down to my toes. On my right knee it is a shade of purple/red with pimple like bumps on it. This morning I woke up and they were a silverish white color and I attempted to pop them, and a nasty yellow pus came out. I have not been taking any medication and am not aware that I have any diseases. I am starting to get a little worried.. I haven't saw a doctor because I figured it was a rash that would come and go. Any ideas on what this could be? Thank you.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
These purple red bumps with pus can be due to folliculitis and boils. Folliculitis starts when hair follicles are damaged by friction from clothing or blockage of the follicle. Please keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed. Consult a dermatologist in that case.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

The best thing to do is to see a dermatologist.  It's difficult to diagnose skin rashes over the internet.  Describe the rash to the phone receptionist and ask her if you could have an appt. sooner than later (so the doctor can see the rash while it's flaring up).

Hope this helps.
