White Dots on Forearms

White Dots on Forearms

What are these tiny white dots that appear on my skin whenever I sweat. they stay for a couple hours after and disappear by the next day completely, what are they? They only appear from my forearms to my elbow. is it Tinea versicolor, I ask this because my white spots are small and not large patches.

Another question I have a goosebumps type rash on my left elbow that has been there for I don't know how many months, what is it? Not a huge rash, no itchy, just looks like I have goosebumps around there.

Thank you for any help.

Hello,
These goose bumps and white dots can be due to keratosis pilaris, lichen nitidus or keratin filled cysts. Keratosis pilaris occurs when the human body produces excess keratin, a natural protein in the skin.

Treatment includes tretinoin or Triamcinolone cream or Adapalene, a retinoid medication. Exfoliation, intensive moisturizing creams, creams and lotions containing alpha hydroxy acids and urea may be used to temporarily improve the appearance and texture of affected skin.
I would suggest you to consult a dermatologist for this.

Hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.

Hello,
Keratosis pilaris occurs when the human body produces excess keratin, a natural protein in the skin. The excess keratin, which is cream colored, surrounds and entraps the hair follicles in the pore. This causes the formation of hard plugs (process known as hyperkeratinization).

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
