White bumps under hair

White bumps under hair

Hello,

Underneath the hairs on my testicles and shaft of penis there are these white bumps. I have went to the doctor twice about these bumps and both times they said it wasn't something to be worried about and that it was because the skin down there doesn't have any fat underneath it. I decided to get checked for sti's anyway and it came back negative. However, sometime after i noticed these white bumps just below the head of my penis, in a place they never were before?

Also, just recently after i shaved down there i have noticed at the base of my penis by the scrotum there about 6 round reddish bumps that are about the size of the ball of a pen tip.  I had a doctor look at them and he said it was just an irratation or zit?

I am confused i was hopping i could possibly get some answers?

Also, I have been with the same girl for 3 years however we broke up midway into the relationship and i had relations with another girl. However, I used a condom and nothing went wrong during intercourse. Also, it has been roughly a year and a half since this (me and my girlffriend are still together) and i have these syptoms (symptoms) now? So i dont think its related?

Hi,
The bumps which appear like pimples in this area are usually due to inflamed hair follicles. Folliculitis is the inflammation of one or more hair follicles.
It starts when hair follicles are damaged by friction from clothing, blockage of the follicle, shaving.

In most cases of folliculitis, the damaged follicles are then infected with the bacteria Staphylococcus (staph). They gain entry into the hair follicles through tiny cuts/nicks on the skin's suraface.

This condition presents as reddened skin areas, which may then take on the appearance of pimples or pustules located around a hair follicle.
They are commonly seen in the groin area. Since you have shaved the area, in all likelihood, it would be the caused for the current infection.

Treatment is with antiseptic washes and application of topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment on the bumps.
They should resolve in a week's time.

The white bumps i was told were inflamed hair follciles and yes thats good to hear from you to. However the ones near the base of my penis and start of my scrotum were reddened and swollen before i shaved.  Yes they look like pustules bumps but they some ,not all, seem like they may have multiple bumps from a singular zit. Some seems to be larger and more inflamed then the others.

I read online to use was use bactacin or bacatrine? Can i get that medication you recommended at a pharmacy? No prescription? If they dont dissapear in a couple weeks should i go back to the doctor. It seems there are a few more of them now then before and there size may have increased slightly as well as the reddness.

THANKS
