White patches on face

Hi,I'm 26 years old and have had these white spots on my face and forehead.The orehead spot started as the drying and peeling of the skin which later has left a white patch whereas those on the face are simple white patches without peeling and all.My dermatologist diagnosed it as Pitysaris Alba and prescribed Desonite .05% ointment twice a day.
I've been applying it for 2 weeks now and can't see a significant result.Can you pls help?

thanks for the reply.As mentioned I have already seen the dermataologist and she has recommended me Desonide ointment,have been applying it for 2 weeks now,but have not seen any significant changes.I want to know how long does it take for white spots to go away?

These spots can be due to pityriasis versicolor. It is a common skin infection caused by the yeast Malassezia furfur. This skin disease commonly affects adolescents and young adults, especially in warm and humid climates.

You should get it examined from a dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
