What is it?

Hi Dr,
Friday night I shaved my pubic area using an electric razor.  I didnt think much about it and went with some friends to enjoy a sunny day at the lake a day or 2 later.  a few days after while I was taking a shower i noticed a cyst like bump on the bottom left shaft of my penis right where there are still little hair circles(forgot what theyre called), it was on the shaft but in the area that still has hair and where there isnt there are the small circles.  I played with that bump and pus poured out of it and in the middle there was what seemed to be a kind of small black dot that if you ran your finger over felt like a small splinter i kept playing around with it trying to figure out what it was.  I didnt put any antibiotic ointment and carried on going to the gym and continuing my day.  At night time when I came to inspect it the area was very red and about 2 or 3 very small pimples formed (about a month ago I had similar looking pimples after i shaved on my face).  On one hand i was thinking a staph infection and on the other hand i was worried that it could be herpes even though i have had no recent sexual contact.  The pimples were not painful, I have no flu-like symptoms, no burning sensation while urinating, no fatigue i feel great physically. the only thing is sometimes it itches really bad but sometimes it doesnt itch at all and also when i lift the hair to get a better look pus starts coming out(so ive stopped doing that).  So I decided to put neosporin on it and within a day and a half or so the pimples almost dissapeared and now its still red and itchy.  What could it be? and what do you recommend that i treat it with?
(Timeline: bump was discovered monday morning, red started around monday evening-tuesday morning, around tuesday night started applying neosporin)
Thanks.

My daughter has a bulging vein in her right temple. It seems to be enlarged from time to time. What could it be and would a CT of her brain be helpful? She had a hemangioma on her soft spot when she was born that went away by age 5. Any coorelation do you think?
Is this dangerous?

Thanks for your reply Dr.  I just noticed my lymph glands are a bit swollen in my groin area and was wondering if that could be associated with a staph infection?
Thanks

Sounds like a localized staph infection, not herpes.  I recommend neosporin and otherwise leaving it alone. It should clear up in 7-10 days.  If it doesn't, let a doctor take a look.

Best.
