About 8 weeks ago I was diagnosed with foliculits, I had two large bumps on my mid-thighs, smaller bumps in my pubic hair. I was prescribed an anti-biotic cream and it seemed to help a little, but as soon as one pastule clears, some others break out, and at least moderate discomfort is constant. My GP said that the pubic area was common for foliculitis because of the sweat, density of hairs and the rubbing that occurs during physical activity. I have not had any bumps on my penis or anywhere that does not have hair, and some follicles will seem slightly irritated but do not get as bad, it seems that at worse 3-4 follicles are effected. It seems worst when I am exercising often, and wearing tighter clothes, but perhaps that merely peeks my awareness of it.
The last few days I have been using a triple anti-biotic ointment on it and it has seemed to stay controlled but has not totally dissapeared.
Could this be something else? Are there permanent solutions?
Thanks,
Mike
