blisters on hands and feet

I have been getting blisters on the soles of my feet these past yrs., and now I'm getting them on my hands. I was told it has something to do with asthma. most important, is this condition contagious? I worry about my grandchildren getting affected. I don't know what to do, please help me. my foot dr. and my medical dr. keep sending me back and forth to each other. note, I have a foot dr. because of operations on both feet as a child.

My daughter suffered with her hands blistering and raw. Finally a dermatologist gave her a cream. He said she had exema. She had to use gloves to wash dishes or use any cleaning chemicals, putting the white cotton gloves underneath. She would put the ointment that the dr gave her on it, then neosporin on top of that. It would clear it right up. I had a place like that on my leg and did what she said, 1st the ointment and neosporine on top of that and it cleared right up. Exema (know I spelled it wrong) is heredity according to the dr. My aunt suffered with it for years (My Dad's Sister). Sweating causes it to break out too, so that could be affecting your feet.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi

At this point, we can not really tell if this is something contagious. Fungal, viral and bacterial infections are contagious. However, if this has been present for quite some time already and if redness and itchiness are present, then I would suspect that this may be a case of contact or irritant dermatitis. A likely diagnosis also is eczema .This may present as a wet weeping rash which may present with itchiness.

You may need topical corticosteroids for these. A skin scraping from the area and microscopic evaluation of the skin scrapings will be able to help.
