Hello,
Yes it can be due to contact dermatitis or friction rub caused due to thongs. Wash the area several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some Neosporin powder or calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton undergarments. Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist

I hope that helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.

Thank you-- I am a clean person, I do not sleep around, but obviously I need this taken care of. Could this be in part because I only wear thong underwear? Although I have been doing so for years, perhaps skin is rubbing, as you've suggested? I'm cocerned, because I can't afford to see my Dr, & now I have to set up w/ a new Dr.(insurance--work)

Hello,
Common causes of small bumps around the anus are hemorrhoids, genital warts, bumps due to friction rub with the clothes, infections of hair follicles, herpes, syphilis, and sebaceous cysts. It is only after examination can the diagnosis be confirmed.

Pls consult a dermatologist and get it done.Treatment will depend on the confirmation of diagnosis.

I hope that helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.

acne can be caused by many things and one is skin being dirty, not saying you are dirty but the anus area is very prone to sweating and that could cause some sort of acne but to be on the safe side i would go and see your doctor and dont be shy trust me better safe than sorry
