bump under eye

hi, i have this small lump looked under my eyebrow. It reminds me of a pimple,  it hurts when i touch it and sometimes itches. It comes and goes and is always in the same spot, but never any zit forms. when i was getting my eyebrows waxed a couple of months ago i had it and the lady doing them seemed to have some type of concern about it. i know she is not a doctor but it made me think It was there for a couple weeks then left and now its back again. These arent the first times i have had it. So i was wondering if you could tell me anything you may think it is?

Hi,

There could be several causes of the symptoms you are having including a cyst, skin tag, ectropion or oxalosis.

1. Ectropion is  Inversion of eyelids outwards.
2. Oxalosis is  A rare inherited metabolic disorder where excess oxalic acid forms crystals which make up urinary stones.
3. Sebaceous cyst: Cyst producing sebum.

The most like cause seems to be sebaceous cyst but nothing can be said with surety without having a look at the lesion. Symptoms of Sebaceous cyst
click here

    * Painless smooth skin lump
    * Thick yellowy sebum in the lump

Always seek professional medical advice about any treatment or change in treatment plans.Treatment for Sebaceous cyst

    * Watchful waiting - many sebaceous cysts are harmless and need no treatment until they cause any symptoms.
    * Surgical removal of sebaceous cyst
    * Treatment of sebaceous abscess:
          o Antibiotics
          o Surgical drainage of abscess

If the symptoms still persist, consult your skin specialist or dermatologist.

Let us know about how you are doing and if you have any other doubts.

Regards.
