A keloid scar is benign, non-contagious, and usually accompanied by severe itchiness, sharp pains, and changes in texture.
Keloids and hypertrophic scars do not usually cause symptoms, but they may be tender, painful, or pruritic or they may cause a burning sensation.
What site is the keloid that you mention? Are you having any other symptoms? Are you on any medications?
