cracked hands

im a 59yrs old and about 2 months ago the skin started peeling off the palms of my hands, it then spread to my fingers and both of my thumbs are cracking and are very sore. i do all my chores with rubber gloves on, havnt used anything different. perfumes, creams etc.been to my gp he has given me hydromol and elocon but is not helping.
