Hi- my 11 yr old has a reddish pink angioma on her cheek. We originally thought it was a pimple due to her age and changing hormones. It started out super small but after several weeks to a month, it grew to about 3 mm in diameter, so still relatively small. Saw Dermatologist just today. He said laser won't work to get rid of it but only possibly lessen the pinkish red appearance. He said if it was his daughter, he would get it cut out by a plastic surgeon.
Obviously, I'm disappointed that my beautiful daughter will have to have her face cut and a tiny (hopefully faint) scar is unavoidable. I was hoping he'd suggest at least trying laser or or something else first. Getting ready to make an appointment with plastic surgeon for a consult.
Does anyone have any experience with this type of angioma? Please detail your treatment and outcome. Thanks!
