"grains of salt" on hands

I have what look like grains of salt on the palms of my hands. They seem to cluster in groups. They do not itch or secrete any liquid. I can cut them off with nail clippers painlessly, but they always come back. They are really not too bothersome, I am just wondering what they are and if there is any way to get rid of them for good.

Thank you. I am a bank teller and work with paper all day. This does make sense.

Hi,
Thery could be areas of thickened skin which has become that way as a response to repeated friction. If it is a single large area then it could be called a callus which is is an especially toughened area of skin which has become relatively thick and hard as a response to repeated contact or pressure.
In your case it may not be a sustained pressure but could be anything( maybe in line with your occupation or daily activities which is irritating the skin in these areas and thus causing it to respond this way.
There is no requirement for treatment if it is not a bother to you.
