granulomatous cheilitis?

I have had a reoccuring rash on my upper lip and sometimes bottom.  It makes my lips feel hyper sensative and tingles a bit.  My lip shows a tiny bit of swelling with tiny, tiny hardly noticeable bumps.  Usually this will go away with in a weeks time.  Recently it has been occuring more frequently and I have noticed more of an itch assoicated with it and the itchy has spread to my jaw line and rim of my nose.  Doctors have said it is probably an allergic reaction although I cannot think of anything it would be associated with.  Has anyone had similiar symptoms and been diagnosed.  My issue is not knowing what causes this and how to prevent it.  Help if you can?

I have been experiencing painful chapped lips.  The outer part of both my upper and lower lip become red and irrated.  My lips burn and then begin to peel, wheter I use chap stick or not.  I have tried medicated, non medicated, vaseline, and herbal chapsticks and nothing seems to help.  Any ideas?
