identify non-itching rash

i had a horrible headache which is unusal, and I found a red cicle on my front left chest area in the shoulder area. i often hold my puppy on that shoulder.
it was the size of a dime. My doc said it wasn't a tic bite but might be ringworm
or a bug bite. he gave me a script for topical cream, which i used right away.
the next day the circle was still there but now there was a 2" downward extension of the rash.
it is straight and 1/2" wide.  the center of the circle portion is  raised but the rest is flat.
there is no itching and i am still using cream. my puppy was checked and doe not have ringworm.
other than a mild sore throat i have no other syptoms. what do you think this is? Is it contagious?

By the way, Lyme Disease is nothing to mess around with!  If the bullseye rash sounds like what you had you should see someone right away.  My son had a big red circle on his shoulder, then a few days later it spread and the center disappeared leaving the center looking more clear.

If I were you I would double check that it isnt lyme disease.  Did the inside of the circle clear and leave a ring?  My son had lyme disease.  I took him to the pediatrician who informed me that there was no lyme disease in Michigan.  (untrue!)  He said it was probably a mosquito bite.  Anyway I took him to a specialist who determined it was likely lyme disease and put him on antibiotics.  You might want to have a 2nd opinion.

I've been using the cream since thursday afternoon, twice a day. That would mean 5 applications so far. The only change that occurred was in its expanding, otherwise it has stayed the same. No other injury or trauma or lesiona in the past. I do go to the gym and use the laundered towels for my upper body sweating only. My husband thinks its from that.  This might sound weird but my vet said it didn't look like ringworm and would be very surprised to hear that it was.
Is this contagious? should i keep a bandaid on it? it  sits very close to my bra strap, but not under it.

hi,

i think this may be ring worm which may or may not be attributed to your pet.

How many days have you taken the treatment now? has there been no change at all?

have you had a injury or trauma or any other similar lesion in the past?

did you have any itching in that area?

hope to hear more from you.
