Is it normal that flesh colored nevuses are growing over time?

I had one, i saw it on my shoulder like 15 -17 years ago, it was small, now it is larger. I had small near my upper lips too, been there 20 - 25 years, it is bigger now too. It starts to bleed when shaving. Should i remove them, take a biopsy, can they be one of  very slow growing skin cancers? They are flesh colored, generally round and rather smooth.
