mrsa or pimple

I have had this for about 3 days, thought it was an ingrown hair/pimple. I popped it, green nasty ooze came out and a hair.
now i woke up to this red ring around this thing. It was/is painful and it is on my left thigh.

prescribed bactrim? how long does this stay in my system after taking it. i read swimming is bad and i have vacation starting tomorrow

Hi and welcome. I would lean more towards ingrown hair than msra. This is a type of staph infection from contact with a carrier or towels, door knobs and other things. The ingrown hair infection is much more commom. I feel the red circle is from squeezing it. Just keep an eye for it spreading and if you concerned a doctor can diagnose it.
