I have it on my forearms and have for a very long time. I have tried everything and it is still there. It does go aways sometimes, but for the most part it is there. I felt like it had to be a drug allergy. I am going to my doctor next week. I will tell you what he says. Mine is not raised, does not itch, just looks bad.
I have it too! I've always been sort of blotchy when it gets cold (arms and legs under the skin) but for the past several months I have had redness that intensifies after a shower, in hot weather, and after a workout at the gym - forearms, neck and upper chest, as well as some redness up the back of my arms all the way to my shoulders. I thought it might be self-tanner causing it, but I stopped using the self tanner for two weeks and it didn't go away. I recently had blood work done and will post here if there is anything in the results that may explain mine.
I just read your comments and it sounds like something I have been noticing. I also have this "rash" on my forearms. It looks almost like some peoples skin gets when it's cold. It looks as though it's "under" the skin, and not on the surface. I noticed mine after a couple weeks of tanning. Have you tried using the cream the doctor suggested?
you need a blood test to confirm a lupus diagnosis. there are many conditions that can cause redness.
