penis yeast / infection

Hello all. Im a 35yr old male. I am uncircumsized. About a month ago i had a very long masturbation session. The next morning, my foreskin was somewhat tender. I put some antibacterial cream on my foreskin to see if that would help. About 2 days later, i started to form a few blisters (but they werent really puss filled), just blisters that kind of rubbed off so to speak. Afterwards, my left foreskin began to swell quite a bit and i had difficulty retracting the foreskin back on that side. I researched quite a bit, and thought i might have a yeast infection and possible balanitis. I bought over the counter monistat and applied for a few days. The swelling went down and my foreskin began to produce this whitish patch on my foreskin. When i applied the topical antifungal and allowed the foreskin to cover the head overnight, and the next morning when i pull the foreskin back, i have quite a bit of "yeast' or "smegma" covering the white patch. This "whitish" stuff just easily peels right off. I saw a dermatologists and he looked at it and thought i had a yeast infection and gave me topical antifungal and diflucan (100mg for 7days). It has been 1 week on the meds and i really havent seen much improvement honestly. The swelling has completely gone down, and I have never had any pain on the white spot , nor any pain urinating.I am at my ends in trying to figure this out. Could someone please help me. I am in a bigtime state of depression for the last month. I am thinking of getting circumsized too. I have a pic, but i dont think i can post it. Anyone willing to look at it for me? Just curious

thanks so much for your time

Hello,
From the picture and symptoms it looks like fungal infections only. You have not mentioned your sexual history. If there is history of any unprotected intercourse with a suspected partner then it can be due to sexually transmitted diseases like Chlamydia, herpes or syphilis.

Oral course of antibiotics is needed. In addition, please don’t use any cosmetics on the penis, instead use some topical antimicrobials like Bacitracin or Lotrimin. Also corticosteroids and topical immunosuppressants can be used but they are available under prescription. Also retract the foreskin daily and soak in warm water to clean penis and foreskin. In case the symptoms persist then please consult a urologist/dermatologist for evaluation and antimicrobials and steroids prescription. Also then get yourself evaluated for the STD’s mentioned above.
Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing. Warm regards.

doc, thanks so much. I have been to the dermatologists twice. The 1st time he suspected a yeast infection, so he gave me a rx for diflucan. I took that for 1 week, along with topical yeast creams....nothing changed for the most part. I went back the 2nd time and the dermatologist prescribed an oral antibiotic (cipro). I have been on that for 2 days and ever since taking the cipro, the white patch is now becoming "hardened" in a sense. The white patch seems to be "keratinizing" if that makes sense. And also i am getting quite a bit of water retention around the white patch and the foreskin swells up like a water balloon. The weird thing is that the white patch doesnt hurt in the least. Never any pain urinating, etc.

The dermatologist said to take the cipro, but not put any antibacterial cream on it (which i dont understand why not.....and i think i will start doing this if u think it is fine?)

I am at a total loss of what is going on.

I have been with my gf for the last 4yrs and have had unprotected sex with an ex  (october) once, but i am almost definitely certain she is STD free.

This all started after a long masturbation period about a month ago. Ever since then, my foreskin has swollen, formed a few little blisters that went away, and now this yeast looking patch that is now becoming hardened to an extent.

Im getting a STD check on wednesday and seriously considering circumcision because of issues with foreskin.

please help...please
