Thanks TexasBrian,
You have no idea how much it helps hearing from someone else who "had" them same issue. For so long I felt like I was alone in this struggle and couldn't get any answers. When you say "curettages" what exactly was that procedure? I am seeing yet another dermatologist today at 2:00 pm to find out what he recommends. Is the Zantac taken orally? (I know that might sound silly, but of all the home remedy's out there I'm not sure)
I have been taking Tagamet since January 9th since I have read some things about Cimetidine helping to clear warts. So far I can't say I am seeing any evidence that it is working.
Thanks,
G
I have a periungual wart myself... well, DID have one...
It was resistant to two freezings and two curettages. The last curettage, we added an Rx of Zantac (300 mg twice a day) and the wart did not come back.
I also have Efudex on hand (basically a skin chemo drug) to destroy the wart's growth if it comes back.
Hope this helps...
Hello,
For small warts , several medications(like podophyllum resin, Podofilox, Trichloroacetic and bichloroacetic acids, Imiquimod 5% cream and interferons) are available, which can be applied directly to the surface of the warts. Other treatment options include electrical cautery, surgical removal, Carbon dioxide laser treatment and electrodesiccation.
In my opinion you should talk to a cosmetologist/dermatologist about this and get these warts evaluated to decide the treatment option.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
