Hello, when I was 15 I was told by a walk in clinic that I had genital warts. He treated me with Aldara as well as some form of acid. Finally after what I felt were unsuccessful treatments, including burning my skin with the acid, I visited my dermatologist. When I went to my dermatologist he looked at me and said that that was just what the skin was supposed to look like and that I didn't have anything. Since then however, every so often I have pain in the area I applied the acid too and the skin sometimes is red/irritated. I guess maybe I feel like I still have genital warts, as there are some bumps where I applied the acid, but they are not cauliflower shaped and they seem to run in the direction of the skin, but haven't been to a dermatologist since then. Is it normal, after using Aldara and the acid, which I applied directly several spots on my penis, is it normal for the skin--even 8 years later--to have been burned, raised in little bumps which look almost like tiny, tiny blisters and scarred from that? Thank you.
