Rashes

I have two unrelated question.

1. I had an episode of what i believe was joch itch. Groing rash, kind of itchy and sometimes with a rare odor.

Had this kind of rashes in my groin a few times in my life. I remeber in the past having episodes in which took me a while to get rid of it.

I for a long while it never reappeared.

The thing is that a few months ago after having what i believe was protected intercourse with soneone of unknown status, got the rash i describe at the top of my post. Like 4 or 5 weeks after sex

Does the ARS HIV rash or any rash related to sti's are similar to joch itch??

And... My second question is:
2. My gilrfriend last tuesday started complaining about pain under her left arm (armpit area). When she checked she found a relative superficial lump in her armpit (can be seen when lifting the arm). Really painful. All of the sudden from dusk till dawn.

It looks like the one in this picture. Only not that pronounced (not that big) and is not red nor a head can be seen. Could it be a swollen lymph?

Pain is heavy specially at touch.  Doesnt have any more swolleness in her body nor fever or sore throat resembling viral infection. Please help. What could it be?

Ahh the picture

Thanks

Hello,I am sorry I did not respond earlier. There is nothing to connect a jock itch like condition to STS. However one can transmit the fungus during skin to skin contact.
Your girl friend has a deep folliculitis, and may need antibiotic.Do consult you doc.
Best wishes.

Hi, the problem with my gf went away on its own after a week. Does this change your foliculitis assumption?? Does this mean that actually it was a swollen lymph node?

I used o believe lymph node are deep in the armpit cavity and when swollen they dont look like a superficial pea.

I strongly believe it was a foliculitis but, if it was foliculitis shouldnt had stay there longer followed maybe for a head and pus flow?? Or they can resolve on its own being re absorved by the body?? Dont they always have to pop pus? Or at least you will have to do something to get rid of it like antibiotics???

Please help

You are right that a folliculitis opens up too, but then not always.Especially antibiotics and of-course a good immune response it can reduce and disappear. And the lymph nodes are in the axilla and deeper. My opinion was based on the photo and it seems so by look.
Do consult your doc.
