red dot in the center of my shaft with wite dot

by worried22113, Oct 11, 2009 02:22AM
hers the deal. im 22 ive been sexually active for awhile. i do wear condoms when i can and ive become much better at wearing them recently. anyways, i can't remeber how long ago but i noticed a small red dot with a little white center in the middle of my shaft. it's been awhile ago that i noticed it. well, i decided when i got out of the shower to pop it and a white stringy pimple like stuff came out and i was relieved. its been about six days since then and now the red spot is raised and doesnt hurt but is very unsightly and there still seems to be some white left in the center. i ve tried to pop it again but nothing. i just don't know what it is. i thought it could be molouscum or whatever but can you pop that? and isn't there more then one usually?

please help i would really like some peace of mind.

thank you.

To: worried22113,
Hello,
From the symptoms it sounds like a sebaceous cyst. A sebaceous cyst is a closed sac occurring just under the skin which contains a "pasty" or "cheesy" looking substance called keratin. They may occur anywhere on body but scalp, ears, back, face, and upper arm, are common sites for sebaceous cysts. Blocked sebaceous glands, swollen hair follicles and excessive testosterone production will cause such cysts.

Generally no treatment is required but they become painful then it means they are infected, Then surgical excision by traditional wide excision, minimal excision, and punch biopsy excision may be required.
I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
