Rosacea is a long-term disease that affects the skin and face. It is common in women and people with fair skin and usually starts between age 30 and 60. This may present as: frequent redness of the face or flushing, small and red lines under the skin, acne, swollen nose, thick skin, usually on the forehead, chin and cheeks and sometimes vision problems. The cause is not clear but it is said to be genetic.
It would be best to see your dermatologist for proper evaluation. Early diagnosis and treatment can control the signs and symptoms of rosacea. There are different subtypes of rosacea and each requires different therapies.
