red on nose

i am 16 years old and i have had a red mark on the end of my nose for several years now. It is slightly raised to the touch but appears flat. i do not experience any pain but it makes me feel very unattractive. i wonder if you know what it could be?

hi - this sounds so similar to what i have. i am 22. when i was 11 a red spot - flat, painless, very red, small - appeared on my nose and has never gone away. i wear makeup over it every day, but i am so self-conscious about it.

i've seen two doctors about it, and they weren't much help. does this sound like what you have?

it was not present at birth but has been for a while now.
i don't think its due to acne i'm not a great sufferer of this.
no it hasn't been seen by a dermatologist, and i do use sunblock on my face as i'm very fair skinned
do u recomend seeing someone about it?
as i said it causes me no bother other than not looking very attractive.
thankyou

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi

Has this been present at birth?

If not, have you scratched this or injured this area which could have caused this discoloration?

This may be a mole or a postinflammatory pigmentation if you have had acne eruptions in the past. This may not be something that you have to be very worried about. Just do not pick on this to avoid any injuries and infections.

Have this seen by a dermatologist.

Have you been using sunblock creams to protect your face?
