sebaceous prominences

can sebaceous prominences cause little red pimples to appear? because ive noticed them for a while mainly in my pubic hair region and on my penis where i get the sebaceous prominences, but recently i had a little red bump at the tip of my penis that resembled the others but just like the other it went aways after a couple days, i was worried it was herpes but i asked another doctor and he said from what i described it doesnt seem to be an STD, what do you think?
