small swellings on face

Dear Doctor,
I get certain small inflamations one or two at a time on my face. these give a slightly itchy/ tingling sensation as that is how i find out that they have appeared. its the size of a mosquito bite or smaller and its not red.
I started noticing it some years back. it used to appear on my lips after i had some dals( pulses) or vegetables like brinjal and snake gourd / ripe jack fruit. these swellings persist for some time- maximum a day
then they disappear but leave a mark after the swelling goes off that eventually turns darker. offlate, I have started getting them all over my face and mostly near my jaws. I used to have a feeling that they are caused as food
allergies but, for the past year or so,i find them appearing very often- even in early mornings and at times when my stomach seems to be empty and i ve not had any food. please advice me on this. is this some kind of a
problem with my stomach or is it any thing else?
P.S- i do not know if this is a psychological feeling..but my mouth seems to have a metallic taste at times..

regards, radhika

Thanks Vanessa
yes! they subside by themselves, but they leave a dark mark on the skin.   I have tried homeopathy and ayurveda but the doctors are not clear as to what this actually is . there is no history of asthma in my family, but I am allergic to dust- sneezing, and some times i develop a deep cough when exposed to old clothes which subsides gradually.
these symptoms started 8-9 years ago. i feel anti histamines give only a temporary relief. as I had said earlier, I get it these days even on empty stomach so, I ve started doubting if it is food allergy.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

When these bumps appear ,do they resolve by themselves?

Do you take any medications to make them disappear?

Differentials for this will be an allergic reaction . I suggest that you have this assessed by your dermatologist or primary physician. Taking an antihistamine may be able to help relieve the bumps and the slight itchiness. If you suspect that certain food trigger the condition, then by all means avoid these.

For how long have you experienced this ?
Is there any history of allergies or asthma in the family?
