sores

I continue to have these bumps on my arms, some on my face, on my outer rimes of my ears. (Places that aren't shaved)They start burning before anything is there. Then I scratch and a bump will appear, it will continue to burn till I have it bleeding. Once it starts bleeding it will stop burning. Then it will scab over. This burning will start again till I scratch the scab off, once it bleeds the burning stops.  I've looked at the photos in different areas and everyone has patches of these infected hair folicles. My are one here and there, not in a group. But they can be numerous. When I scratch the scab off around, the sore looks like a volcano (a pit in the middle). They do not pus, they ozz liquid or just bleed. I've seen a dr for this even a biopsy was done. He said they were infected hair folicles and I got an antibatic. The problem is that the meds didn't help.  Then I see my sisters legs and see has these volcanos all over her legs and she has the same stuff but more of them. She discribes the same problem with hers. And no Dr can find what her problem is either. Have you heard of this, do you know what they are, or a possible treatment.

Hi Vanessa
I have had a skin plug biopsy done. It came back negative, that is why the doctor thought it might be hair folicle infection.
And mine do not have a yellow or pus center. There isn't but a tiny bump, that I don't even knows that it is there, till it starts burning real bad; till I make it bleed. Then the burning stops, because it is bleeding. It will start burning again maybe that day, the next day, it might be a couple of days before the burning happens again. After the scab is picked, it looks like a crater/volcano. Once the scab comes off the burning stops, and it bleeds till it is ready to stop.
Also I had not idea that my sister had the same thing, I don't get to see her very offten, but she was down for Mothers Day. I got to see her legs, and they are worse than anything I have.
This (my sores) all started about two years ago.
The only thing that I have found, to at least slow them down, once they erupt has been Avon conceler. I came by this because I didn't want them glowing and drawing attention. Like I might have bugs.
I sure don't want them to get as bad as my sisters are. She even had a culture done on hers to no results.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi.

When did your condition start?

Has this been present for quite sometime?

This does not sound like it is infectious. You have noted that you see a similar condition with your sister. This may suggest an autoimmune or genetic component. Folliculitis may present with bumps or lumps involving hair follicles. They may have a yellowish center containing pus. They are found in areas rich with hair follicles such as the face, the chest and the groin.

In your case, an infectious process may not be completely ruled out yet. Has your physician considered a skin biopsy? A referral to an infectious disease specialist or rheumatologist may help.
