stubborn pimple on 6 year olds nose

Hi,

My 6 year old son has  had a stubborn, raised, pimple on his nose since July.  I have been to the dermatologist several times.  Once they applied a freezing solution to try and freeze it. I thought it might fall off, but it did not.  After that, I've been treating it every evening, for about 4 months, by applying ziana directly to it.  I cannot believe it is still there.  It is definitely raised and seems to look like a scab and sometimes I think that maybe it is going to fall off.  But before I know it, it  seems to return to a stubborn scabbed pimple.
Have you had any experience with this?  Can you provide me with any possible solutions to help heal this "pimple".  I feel so bad for my son!

hi, I just read your post and am wondering if the surgery helped.  my little girl 6 yrs, had a small pimple-like bump when she was born, it disappeared, but in the last year or so she had a white head looking bump appear in the same area, now that white head bump has festered into a pimple looking bump, i left it alone for the past 2 weeks hoping it would go away like a normal pimple, but it now has a little black head to it, I am sort of worried, I've scheduled an appt but it is a few days away and my mind is rolling a million miles an hour...

I had the same problem with my 6 year old daughter.  I took her to the dermatologist today.  He diagnosed it as a pyogenic granuloma (a tumor of capillaries).  He numbed her nose with anesthesia, scraped the tumor off (will send it to pathology) and then cauterized it.  There is a small hole in my daughter's nose and he said it would likely leave a small scar.  It was pretty traumatic for daughter AND mom, but I'm glad to get it taken care of.  It was there for several months and continually cycled from red bump, to white pimple, to scabbed sore, back to red bump.  Hope this helps someone else out there.

I am having the same problem with my 6yr old daughter, it looks like a pimple then becomes very dry and will scab off, only to bleed and then resurface. It has been three months of this cycle and I am taking her to a dermatologist tomorrow. I have putting Bactroban on it three times a day and it keeps it from looking like a huge pimple but it doesn't go away. She is sick of it and so am I !!
