Small itchy white bumps on chest... what are they?

About 5 days ago my chest started to itch extremely bad in the middle of the night and i have no idea why. I want to think it has something to do with drying my sheets outside on the line. ive never had this before, but i have very very small white bumps in the middle of my chest and they itch now almost all the time. it doesnt look anything like the pictures of folliculitis or eczema i have seen online... it's only red and rashy looking when i itch it and it also itches a lot in the shower when the hot water hits the area... i have no idea what this could be.. ive been putting some Tolnaftate on it after i shower and before i go to bed and it really has had no affect... does anyone have any ideas on what this could be? there are absolutely no other bumps anywhere else and it's in a very small region in the middle of my chest... can anyone provide any insight? thanks a lot!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It can be due to heat rash or sweat dermatitis as they are bumps and not a rash. Avoid using any lotions and creams for the meantime. Use a mild cleanser with moisturizing properties like Cetaphil. Also use cotton clothes and change the clothes twice if there is any increased sweating. Try keeping the skin free of sweat as far as possible. If the symptoms still persist then you can apply mild steroid like dermacort. For the itching antihistaminics like Benadryl or Claritin can be taken.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Possibly seborrheic dermatitis, and the above recommendation seems fair and fine.

May be a contact allergy, like you say.  You might want to switch to a hydrocortisone cream and see if that calms it down for you since the antifungal didn't work.

If it doesn't go away, I always say check for food allergies since I have those.
