sun poisoning???

I typically don't react poorly to the sun.. 16 days ago i went tanning and i was really red that night.  The redness is still faintly on my face, and tends to get redder in a social situation or with anxiety.  I'm not sure why it wont go away? is there anything i can do, short of avoiding the sun? why is this happening all of the sudden now?

hey thanks a lot for your response, any bit helps!  did your doctor mention why a steroid pack would help? upon taking it, how long did it take the redness to fade?

I had a similar problem this summer. I burnt more than usual because i had been taking Doxycyclene, an antibiotic and it makes your skin more sensitive to the sun. Anyway, the burn never went away until the Dr. prescribed a steroid pack to take. Unfortunately, my skin is still damaged and discolored but the redness faded. It will take a long time for the skin to finally heal properly.

Good luck
