how does tagament help in the treatment of plantar warts?

No idea.  Warts behave so weirdly (coming and going at unpredictable intervals) that they lend themselsves to all sorts of unprovable treatments: hypnosis, sympathetic magic, etc. etc.  There have been reprts claiming benfit from Tagamet, but they're far from conclusive.  As to mechanism of action, who knows?  Maybe it makes the virus drowsy . . .

PS:  Not knowing how something works is not a deterrent to using it.  It's not knowing WHETHER it works, is the problem.

My son had over 50 warts all over his body and he started using Tagament with a topical on just 5 of his warts and they evaporated in just 2 weeks.  Another girl in his class who also had a terrible problem with warts had the same success.

Yes... Tagament does cure warts.  Beleive it or not in 1992 while in Korea, I saw a paragragh size article in the National Enquirer stating that Tagament and Vitimin B cured warts.  Laugh if you must but for several years, my son had suffered with hundreds of warts on his legs, feet, hands and under his fingernails.  He had been to several doctors and dermatologists for every treatment possible with no luck.  The warts seemed to get worse.  The first doctor that I mentioned the 'cure' to laughed.  The second doctor, a Dr. Smith in Ogden, Utah said we had nothing to lose and wrote a RX for tagament.  In less than a week every wart was gone, not just getting better but totally gone.  They never returned either.  Like I said that was in 1992 and since then I have lost the article.  Recently my daughter has developed plantars warts and I would like to rediscover the 'cure'.  I am not 1oo% sure that it was vit B or the dosage.

I also have a child who had a plantars wart, at the age of 6, because of her age, I was looking for another treatment rather than surgery or acid treatment.  A pharmasit friend told me about tagament HB as a treatment choose, After talking to our Family Physician we decided to give it a try. It work! after two weeks of treatment they were completly gone. He keep her on the tagament for 4 weeks, she is now 11 and they have never returned.
