Now is this a scar from a cut, or does the skin feel thickened?
Has it ever been itching and you scratched it to stop the itching?
When this happens, you can damage the skin and make it hardened and red - and sore.
It is wise to see a gyno specialist. You may have a condition called Lichen Planus. If this is the case you would need treatment by a combined antifungal and antibacterial cream. As well as moisturise the area.
Don't use normal soaps. Only use non perfumed soaps, soaps that have the same pH level as our skin and baby washes should be fine. Normal soaps can aggravate and dry the area more.
You can purchase emollients from the pharmacy without a prescription that you can use instead of the soap.
Only wear cotton underwear and wash regularly. Don't wear tights and tight clothing.
For how long did you use the creams that you were prescribed? Sometimes it can take a long time before things settle down.
You may find bathing in a bath with a mugful of Epsom Salts with some baby oil helpful. You need some baby oil because Epsom salts are very drying to the skin when used on its own.
Wash regularly and wear clean cotton underwear every day.
Thank you for your help it is much appreciated!..I never scratched the area I just noticed burning feeling and a scar formed almost like my skin just split open. No bleeding or anything really odd!..I will try the bath with the Epsom salts and baby oil tonight. Thank you again!
These skin problems can take a while to heal.
As the skin just split, it sounds like it must have been very dry.
Dry gently after your bath and expose the area to the air as much as you can.
