white spot

I'm 25. Yesterday i noticed a tiny white spot just maybe a cm. long on and above my inner left brow, and maybe 2 gray strands of eyebrows. Today the white spot seemed to have grown more visibly and i noticed a strand or 2 of my eyelashes also turned gray. My appointment with a dermatologist is 2 weeks away and I fear this condition might be vitiligo. I don't see vitiligo symptoms manifested in my immediate family. Can the onset of vitiligo be so sudden as in in a matter of 2 days?

If the eyebrow hair are also turning white then vitiligo is an important possibility.

It is a pigmentation disorder in which melanocytes (the cells that make pigment) in the skin are destroyed. The exact cause is not known but a genetic or hereditary predisposition has been seen but not mandatory.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
