I am not a physician, but the mom of a type one and the daughter of a type 2 diabetic.
One of the reasons your numbers are high after eating is that your are having carbohydrates and starches, which turn into sugars and raise your levels. You should be testing your blood prior to eating not after eating.
I would suggest you ask your doctor to test you for diabetes especially if you have the following symptoms.
Warning signs of type 1 diabetes (these may occur suddenly):
Extreme thirst
Frequent urination
Sudden vision changes
Sugar in urine
Fruity, sweet, or wine-like odor on breath
Increased appetite
Sudden weight loss
Drowsiness, lethargy
Heavy, labored breathing
Stupor, unconsciousness
I hope this helps. Good luck
Thank you so much.My fasting is always around 70.I never have symtoms as you have mentioned. Will it be wise to avoid sugar and starchy foods? I think by that I will be able to control sugar levels. Will it be wise to avoid any medication at this stage?Because prsent sugar levels can be kept normal by diet control. Please advise.
