My girlfriend is 14 years old, her sugar is high a lot?

My girlfriend is 14, and she worries me a lot.
Almost every other day or so, her sugar is 500, or 600, or 400... around there... BUT she takes care of it and takes the correct amount of Insulin all the time, she takes it before she eats.

She checks her sugar 3 times a day.

Why is it like this? Is it because she's still a part of Puberty? Will she grow out of it? Oh, and she uses an Insulin Pump, she has Type one Diabetics, was not born, she got it when she was 10.

Having blood sugars that high really is not good. Yes your blood sugar will go that high sometimes. But it should not be all the time if they do then I would suggest she go see her doctor.

Hi, I know exactly what your girlfriend is going through, and to be honest if she's taking good care of herself then there is absolutely nothing to worry about!
Her insulin should be one unit per kg on her weight (I think thats right, aha).
Also, yes. It is just a puberty thing, stress can also rise the blood sugars, or mood change.
E.g. Im someone who gets stressed easily, then my blood sugars rise. Or Vice versa.

She may get put onto novomix, which is no different from the insulin she is on now (if she is still on mixatard) except from the fact you have to take it before you eat.

Aslong as she takes care of herself, and doesn't stress too much she'll be fine! :)

Sounds like she needs to have her insulin adjusted. Did you ask her to talk to her parents?? She needs to get to a doc. She may be  a brittle diabetic..Or just a different mix of insulin. It isnt good for her to keep registering so high..She could get really, really sick. :(
